a little about us…
Charlie Allen is an Oregon-raised, travel-obsessed fly fisherman who has spent over a decade taking friends on trips and building community around fishing + the water. Charlie has spent the last several years between Alaska + Oregon for fishing and snowboarding and is currently based in Salem with his wife Roxie + their dogs Ellie + Nash.

In our full day trip you will learn knot tying, fly selection, how to read water, effective fly presentation, improving your cast and having fun. The drift boat will comfortably seat two passengers, a third is tight but doable - however not recommended for beginners.
What you will need to bring for yourself: Waders + boots, weather-appropriate outdoor wear (rain shell/jacket etc.), eye protection/sunglasses. Be sure to bring snacks/lunch and any beverages you like as well as a travel power bank and charging cord for your mobile devices.

If you’re looking to improve your cast, break bad habits and find those casting ailments & learn the basics of fly casting, we have ya covered. In your private lesson lesson we will cover the fundamentals of casting and dial in your cast to get you punching casts further and with more accuracy.
